The Princess Royal helped a luxury lingerie brand celebrate its 11th anniversary on a visit to Caerphilly.

Edge o’ Beyond welcomed Princess Anne to it's South Wales atelier, which is based in the county borough, as she acknowledged the brand's commitment to revitalising UK garment manufacturing.

The Princess Royal, who is president of the UK Fashion and Textile Association, toured the atelier, meeting the team and found out about how the brand’s unique jewellery-adorned lingerie is made.

The visit concluded in the factory cafeteria where the princess unveiled a commemorative plaque and was presented with flowers by the founder's two eldest sons.

Founder and creative director of Edge o’ Beyond, Naomi De Haan, said: "It was an immense honour to welcome Her Royal Highness to our atelier.

"Her deep understanding of the fashion and textile industry and her genuine curiosity were inspiring for our whole team.

"This visit is recognition of the exceptional skills of our technicians, and a celebration of keeping British lingerie craftsmanship alive."

The princess has been president of the UK Fashion and Textile Association for more than 40 years.
